Come rest and renew in Lucca, Italy, in the heart of the Tuscan hills, and recover the deep peace of well being that lies within you during this retreat with Richard Miller PhD, as he guides you through the ancient practices of iRest Yoga Nidra.
iRest was developed by Richard over the last 35 years based on the ancient tantric yoga healing practices of Yoga Nidra, which incorporates meditation, body and breath sensing, welcoming emotions, cognitions and joy, and learning to rest in and as the deep healing of pure Being. iRest integrates ancient teachings with modern understandings based on evidence-based research that reveals the efficacy of iRest with sleep disorders, PTSD, chemical dependency, chronic pain and increased well-being, with diverse populations such as active duty military and veterans, the homeless, children and college students. Richard will present iRest Yoga Nidra and its relationship to modern western psychological principles and ancient practices of meditation, as well as to clinical work with groups and individuals.
Richard Miller is the founding president of the Integrative Restoration Institute, founding board member of the Institute for Spirituality and Psychology, co-founder of The International Association of Yoga Therapy (IAYT) and board member of the Baumann Institute. Richard consults on research projects studying the healing impact of the Integrative Restoration (iRest) yoga nidra meditation protocol that he has developed with diverse populations such as soldiers experiencing post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), the homeless and people with chronic pain and sleep disorders. In addition to research and writing projects, Richard leads meditation retreats and trainings throughout North America with a focus on self-inquiry into the nature of freedom in daily life and the impact of pure awareness on well being. Richard’s teaching reflect the profound influence of his teachers including his spiritual mentor, Jean Klein (advaita, Kashmir shaivism and yoga), TKV Desikachar (in the lineage of T. Krishnamacharya), Stephen Chang, MD (Taoism), and Laura Cummings (existential phenomenology, Buddhism). For information you are welcome at anytime to visit our home at: Integrative Restoration Institute.
In collaboration with Pronto Seminars, we will create an intimate setting in a small group (maximum 40 participants) where colleagues from all over the world feel free to share joy of Being while at the same time exploring the delights of Italy.
We look forward to enjoying the heart of the Tuscan countryside. The retreat venue is "off the beaten path", 15 minutes by car from downtown Lucca and downtown Pisa, nestled in the Tuscan hills, and highly acclaimed.
English is the official language of this seminar. No translation services available.

Via Michelin | GooglePRONTO SEMINARS provides high quality workshops and retreats in Italy featuring participants and their families who come from all over the world and from several related disciplines. This is a wonderful opportunity to travel into local Italian culture with international colleagues and their families! Space is limited.
Professionals can obtain continuing education credits (CE and CME) while enjoying the beauty of Italy. We provide an affordable way to combine work and pleasure.
Our classes are designed so that your afternoons are free to wander through the countryside, have a wonderful meal, or visit a museum. Our participants tell us that learning in this environment, at a more relaxed pace, allows for a full integration of new material and practices.
Unlike large symposia and conferences, we aim to create an intimate setting where the presenter is available in a less formal way, where colleagues from all over the world get to know each other while enjoying the delights of Italy.
In June 2010 we are looking forward to enjoying (again!) the heart of Tuscany. The venue is 15 minutes by car from downtown Lucca and downtown Pisa, nestled in the Tuscan hills.
